History

The Foundation stone of the School was laid on the 7th july, 1992 by Mr. Julius Ademola Akinlabi- the Proprietor, with a focus on profering solutions to the shortfall in academic and moral education as witnessed in the society these days.

The School was officially opened as a full-fledged co-educational institution on the 2nd October 1996. right on her permanent site with well ventilated and spacious classrooms on a prototype building. Student's enrolment was seventeen comprising of ten in Js1 and Seven in Js2. Mr. O.A. Egbeola was the Principal with Thirteen other staff members among which eight were academic and five administrative staff.

The sweet story being told today has been to the glory of God for He alone has been our shield and buckler for there have been tremendous changes in all spheres of our lives.

On infrastructure, the foundation stone of yet another ultra-modern complex consisting of a School hall, laboratory with preparatory rooms, Library, classes and administrative block, was laid on the 11th May, 1999, and it has been in use since its completion. The same could be said of the modern Hostel complex at  Owolegbon area of the Estate, currently housing the Boarding House students. The Boys, the Girls and dinning /Kitchen sandwiched in between the Hostels.

The staff strength has equally been on the increasing side; from fourteen at inception to eighty two barely six years after! thirty eight academic staff and 44 non academic staff.

By the same token, there has been an introduction of Computer science into the system, and with the establishment of this section and with an instructor to man them, the sky seems to be the limit of our students in Computer Literacy.

On academics, the Lord has been wonderful to us. The pioneering students of JS three of 1997/98 session had 92.8% success in their Junior Examination ( of the fourteen students presented only one had a drop in mathematics). This led the School into a thorough scrutiny of those to be promoted to the terminal class Three.  Only those students with at least Five good Credits in English language, mathematics and three other subjects from their areas of specialization were forwarded for consideration.

1999/2000 session, the year of our pioneering students, has fetched the school the favour of Waec. For she was considered suitable for both external and internal Examinations through the issuance of Centre numbers- This same year, the students have been privileged to be enrolled for both Waec and Neco Examinations. The same success story could be mentioned of the increase in the student's population as witnessed in the JS one of this year. To God be the glory.

The Parent-Teachers Association of the School had since her inception been very helpful to the School under the then Chairmanship of - Mr Fola Akodu. by the same token, the Board of Governors of the School led by Mr. S.A. Otakomaiya had been playing his fatherly roles to the school.

May God continue to prosper the ways of our able Proprietor for he has been on our sides  always.!

Long live C.K.I.S

May your Shadow never go down.
